Annual Forage (AF) is a USDA pilot insurance program designed specifically for acreage planted annually to green graze, mechanically harvest for hay, or cut for silage.
Unlike PRF which focuses on perennial pasture, Annual Forage accommodates row-planted forage crops like winter wheat, rye, triticale, oats, sudangrass, and sorghum-sudangrass.
With twelve distinct growing seasons corresponding to the month of planting, producers can tailor drought protection to their exact planting schedule.
